Last weekend when my family and I made the 3 hour round-trip out of the way just for a coffee cake, we had the delight of meeting the woman behind said amazing coffee cakes after several years of ordering from her. She was the SWEETEST lady ever and as we were picking up our cakes from her home, she was in the middle of cooking what she called ‘wash day’ dinner.

My mom has this infamous chili recipe that she's made for many years now. It's something that the whole family can agree on. We all love it. It always became a staple in the family's weekly meal plan during the cooler winter months.

I've wanted to post the recipe for a long while now, well pretty much ever since I started all this... but, it just never came to be for one reason or another. In fact, I never even had the recipe in my hot little hand until about a week ago...

Just because the holidays are over doesn't mean that the entertaining has stopped. At least, that's how it is around my place. I like to think of my house as the central hub. The neutral territory. The big football game of the year is coming up and being a native Texan, I couldn't be more excited for it.
