Skinny Cranberry Bliss Bread

I’ve somehow done it, y’all. I’ve somehow managed to wear myself out on pumpkin for a bit. I don’t know how, I don’t know when, and I really don’t like it. But… at least in the meantime while I recuperate, I can play around with cranberries now!

I don’t know about the rest of the country, but here in Austin Texas… the allergies are killing everyone right now. ‘Tis the season, I guess. So while I’m a little under the weather (pun intended) and my throat is aching, I thought it would be a nice time to make a fluffy warm breakfast bread.

Farmers' Market Cornbread

While it’s chilly here in Texas, you better believe that I’m taking FULL advantage of it. Which is why tonight I’m making a special sort of soup tonight and this awesome Farmers’ Market Cornbread to go along with it!

Once upon a time, I had a bread maker. I used it pretty often, but eventually it gave out and started to give me fits. So. The era of fresh homemade bread in my house ceased since, as I’ve said before, baking tends to scare me. Alas… with Fall in full effect and Winter just around the corner, I thought… I’d try my hand.

What a weekend! It was a mix of fun, excitement, and even some drama - to say the least. While my house was a little more than full, It was FULL of people that I love and adore. And when I love and adore you, I feed you. That's why I decided to press on with making this Strawberries & Cream Monkey Bread for breakfast one morning.

I based this monkey bread off of one that I had made before, with just a few simple adjustments to use up the last bits of fresh strawberries in the season. Skinny Mimosa Loaf Cake

Yesterday, The Skinny Fork officially turned 5 years old! Can you believe?! I decided to celebrate the best way that I know how, and that's with mimosas and cake! But, instead of keeping them separate, I put them together into one AMAZING loaf cake.

That's right babes... there's champagne and fresh squeezed orange juice IN this cake TOGETHER. I'm calling it a 'loaf cake' because it's not really a bread, but it's baked as a loaf. Ergo, loaf cake...

Nordic Nut & Seed Bread

If you're like me, you've got a stockpile of random nuts in differing containers that take up half of your pantry. Especially around the holidays. Every cookie, every recipe, everything you cook has a different sort of nut - and none of the recipes use up only and completely one entire bag of nuts. So, you end up with nutty chaos raining down on you from the pantry.
