Chicken Alfredo Monkey Bread

November 10, 2021 Amanda Plott

I’ve been playing around with savory versions of monkey bread a lot over the last year or so. There’s just something fun about monkey bread, maybe it’s the fact that it’s a finger food or maybe it’s that it’s just a really good base for just about any meal. Breakfast or otherwise. Being as I’ve made a Pizza Monkey Bread before, I thought why not try my hand at making an alfredo version.

This Chicken Alfredo Monkey Bread starts out as any monkey bread does - with dough! I used biscuit dough here and then tossed that together with a homemade cauliflower alfredo sauce, cooked chicken, and some cheese!

The end result was this perfectly baked ooey gooey chicken alfredo monkey bread that was as tasty as it was fun to eat! This would be great paired with a side salad, but I just served it as it since there’s already a lot of veggie goodness packed into the cauliflower alfredo sauce.

As an aside, you could really use any alfredo sauce you wanted, pre-made, homemade, etc. But, I’d suggest the homemade cauliflower version since it’s super easy to make and sneaks some veggies in there too!

Monster Cookie Baked Oatmeal

October 31, 2021 Amanda Plott

Out of all the cookies out there, I think that monster cookies are probably my favorite. That’s probably because they have just a little bit of everything that I love. Chocolate, oats, nuts, peanut butter… they’re perfectly balance with a little sweet and a little salty. Since monster cookies already have oats in them, I thought why not put the rest of monster cookie goodness into the oats!

This Monster Cookie Baked Oatmeal is now one of my newest favorite breakfasts. It tastes just like a monster cookie but in the form of oatmeal. And who doesn’t like to find an excuse to have chocolate and candy for breakfast?…

Halloween Bread

October 28, 2021 Amanda Plott

With just a few days more before it’s Halloween I wanted to make my daughter’s lunch box extra special. So, I decided to make this fun Halloween colored sandwich bread! I made it based off of my Rainbow Bread, but with a slight recolor to go along with Halloween!

I made this bread dough in my bread machine and then colored it, sandwiched it all together, rolled it up and made it into a loaf for baking. You can also make this bread without a bread machine. I only used mine for the mixing and rising aspect…

Caramel Apple Monkey Bread

October 19, 2021 Amanda Plott

Was bobbing for apples ever really a thing? I know caramel apples are, but I can’t say that I have ever, or would ever, stick my head in a bucket of water to try and fish out an apple by way of my mouth. So, caramel apples it is! This Caramel Apple Monkey Bread is a great way to sneak some caramel apple into your morning.

A bright crisp green apple that’s baked right into some sugary biscuit goodness and topped off with a quick homemade caramel sauce. It’s sort of perfect for a chilly Fall morning, don’t you think? Plus, there’s no bobbing or water buckets involved so it’s a win-win…

Pizza Waffles

October 13, 2021 Amanda Plott

If you haven’t noticed by now, I sort of like to put foods that I love together to make something completely new. These Pizza Waffles are just one of those things! I picked up a waffle maker a few months back now after a good year or two of my old one having give up the ghost. So, I’ve been having a lot of fun with playing around with the new one.

These Pizza Waffles are super easy to make and delish! I used some puff pastry sheets as the dough, since we’re filling these waffles with the pizza goodness. Sauce, cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings are tolled up in the puff pastry and then cooked on the waffle iron. No batter needed!…

Giant Halloween Cookies

October 10, 2021 Amanda Plott

So far it seems that I have escaped the making of my chocolate ginger bat cookies this year. I think my daughter has been too busy with school and cheer that she hasn’t had the time to remember to ask me for them. And that’s totally find with me because that means that I have the time to make other Halloween inspired cookies - like these Giant Halloween Cookies!

These cookies are HUGE. I’m taking thick AND bigger than my spread out hand. That’s why I listed them as two servings per cookie. But, don’t let that stop you. These cookies are so good that you’ll want to eat the whole thing…
